Two very good Great Lakes singing groups are "Song of the Lakes" out of Traverse City and a performer by the name of Dan Hall. They are simply excellent. Both have CD's available through Elderly Instruments.

I don't know if they still do it, but Song of the Lakes used to take part in a song session every week around a bonfire on the Grand Traverse Bay about 10 or 15 miles outside of Traverse City. It has been some time since I attended one but it was great to sit around the fire with guitars, bodhrans, whistles, squeezers and the like.
