I was interested in the possible link to the Keel Row. When I heard this song it reminded me very strongly of Blind Lemon Jefferson's Bad Luck Blues:

I wanna go home but I aint got sufficient clothes, doggone my bad luck soul
Wanna go home but I ain't got sufficient clothes
Sold my clothes and I wanna go home but I ain't got sufficient clothes

The tune is very similar. The lyrics are different except for the 'doggone my bad luck soul' which is repeated in every verse.

Blind Lemon recorded this in 1926 so it would have been around when Charlie Jackson recorded his song
