Thread Name: Origins: She'll Be Coming Around the Mountain
Subject: RE: She'll Be Coming Around the Mountain
The version I learned first is Canadian and instead of the call-backs, the verses have an additional rhyming last line.
She'll be commin' 'round the mountain when she comes, etc.
She'll be commin' 'round the mountain,
She'll be yellin' she'll be shoutin'
She'll be commin' 'round the mountain when she comes.
She'll be drivin' a mule and wagon
And her feet will be a draggin'
Oh we'll all run out to meet her
With a hug and kiss we'll greet her
Oh we'll kill the old red rooster
'cause he don't crow like he uster
I still like that version best but my nursing home and kid audiences in the States like the cumulative call-backs.
Have fun.
