Well we call it a river (as in River Humber) but it's really an estuary as it doesn't have a source on land. It starts where the Ouse and Trent come in (Trent Falls) and drains about a fifth of the land area of England, which accounts for its colour (brown). Or as we say - too thick to drink, too thin to plough.
I will gladly repeat the cultural tour of Hull I did with Joe and Bill for any visiting Mudcatter. I do about one pint of Guinness to the hour.
