I lived in Hull for a couple of years in 1969 - 1971 and in the East Riding for a few years after that in Willlerby. I used to go to the Bluebell folk club every Sunday evening, which had just lost the Watersons as their residents. The late , great Ian Manuel ( one of the best ballad singers I have ever met) used to frequent the club - mainly the bar.
One of the best pubs is the 'Black Boy' on the old cobbled street that runs past the museum which has one of the most perfectly preserved Roman tesselated pavements. I forget the name of the street, but it runs parallel with Lowgate.
I have many happy memories of the place.
