I WANT ONE!!!!!

Rich R. We need a picture of your loon please!

We used to have two pet possums. My daughter brought them home when they were orphans just over two inches long. We bottle fed them and raised them as pets. We couldn't release them as they got too familiar with our cats and dogs, and one of them was missing a hind leg. He didn't know that this leg was missing so he used to try to scratch with the stump.

They have very soft, if somewhat thin, fur. Their mouths are huge in proportion to their bodies and they have very sharp teeth. They were very tame and didn't bite. We fed them on cat food and scraps, they will eat just about anything and they loved hot dogs. As well fed pets, they got a bit heavy and lost the ability to hang by their tails. They were litter box trained, but we used to keep them in a large cage because they'd take off and hide and we would have to find them.
They lived for over four years. In the wild their normal lifespan is about 18 months.
