Your suppositions are correct. I own the house (well, the bank does!) and will make some alterations. The window is right next to the sink which limits the possibilities - unless I move the sink..... There is a window in the door - but the door needs changing anyway. Small fridge is fine (most of the time); I will probably put some shelves or cupboards high up on the blank wall.
