there is a place in the home of the Nez Perce
called the Palouse hills-
hence appaloosa?? it is near the snake river....
several years ago i went on a raod trip/
canoe trip following the lewis and clark and
Sacagawea trail and there was a beautiful
display at one of the museums in Idaho or Oregon
about the nez perce and their horses--we also saw
old (1700's) rock carvings of horses on a canyon wall-
this brought chills and goose bumps!!
