If you are dedicated to the "negotiation through overhwelming force" school of human relations, perhaps you would prefer to come out and say so. I cannot envision, under current circumstances, a situation in which the United States would ever need to use destructive power 30 times greater Hiroshima,   taking 5,200,000 people to either instant incineration along witht heir cats, dogs, and infants -- or to life-long pain and disfigurement if they are lucky. Not a desireable capability, in my book anyway.
