Me an' some reprobates in the chat room were just wondering about a Mudcat Meet in Ireland, mainly because they want an all-night session on a ferry.



Anyway, we raised the possibility of a Mudcat Gathering in my fair home spot of Portaferry, Co. Down. (That's about 30 miles south of Belfast and on the end of the pointy-out Ards Peninsula - bclicky.)

It's a very scenic, nice wee spot. It has a lovely tourist hostel, a small caravan park, potentially the use of a garden for tents, 11 or so pubs (2 of which are especially great for sessions), pontoons for boats for anyone brave enough to sail into Strangford Lough, and there's all manner of music and festivals that have happened there, so there'll be no startling the locals!

Only drawback is ye have to get there. But it'd be nice to meet up with the Irish catters. Oh, and I'd get to visit my family at the same time.
