Linn, will you MAKE SURE that Jeri sees those films? There is simply NO excuse for her not to.

Nuthin' to do with Christopher Guest (in an obvious way) but when I was growing up I used to listen to American country music radio (you could get it late at night) and it was an absolute revelation for me.

Not just a chance to hear Webb Pierce, Hank Williams and Kitty Wells, but also the advertisements for "Tablecloths and napkins with 'The Last Supper' in FULL COLOUR, 'EMBLAZONED' on them. It went along with the ads for "live baby chicks...Guaranteed Live"!!

This was when I truly understood that American culture was TOTALLY different than Canadian, even though we had the same houses, cars and Luxuries. Years later when a comedian (I forget who, perhaps Shelly bermen) made jokes about selling "Last supper tablecloths...so you can eat dinner while watching someone else's LAST dinner"..I could remember that this may have been hilarious but it was also REALITY!

Now THAT was funny!
