Thread Name: BS: How to Breeze-proof your threads?
Subject: RE: BS: How to Breeze-proof your threads?
You see, John, the point I'm trying to make is that there is a certain etiquette to be aware of in posting to news groups and the like. There is so much material on these sites - it'd be a full-time job just to read all the postings on Mudcat alone - that people like to have some sort of clue what they're going to read about from the thread title. And if they open a thread which is supposedly about how to string a ukelele then they may not want a whole lot of clutter about a club in St Albans - particularly if they live in Birmingham, Alabama (or Birmingham, England for that matter). Having said that a certain degree of scope-creep is inevitable, and often results in some interesting points coming up. But you'll see that some people will rename the thread and quote "was such-and-such" in the new thread.

Okay - (mild) rant over. And (scope creep, sorry!) yes - honours even in Cardiff. We had 'em singing fol-de-rol etc in John Barleycorn. Very friendly audience.
