Jerry was one of the original teens on Bandstand even before Dick Clark became the host. (Back in those days, Bob Horn was the man.) Some of Jerry's fellow dancers in that cold building next to the Arena on Market Street were Tom DiNoble, Dutch Cramer and me. Jerry was a South Philly kid. His connection with the local Mafia was as much a product of his family and friends (I think his mom was Italian) as it was a perc of celebrity.
