Might seem like I'm being negative here, but appreciation of sound is certainly subjective....what's one mans meat is anothers poisson and so on.So who's voice ( in the folkie world) do you not find pleasing to the ear? I ask as I got into a debate today with someone who said they hated folk because everyone sings with a nasal whine.As I stoutly defended the genre and all folk singers everywhere, I realised (but refused to admit)that of course there are singers I don't care for...Shirley Black does not have a voice I admire particularly, neither am I a huge fan of Martin Carthy....so, unless I am a particularly nasty person ( Oh God, that could be it!!), surely I'm not alone here?
