And bless your heart, but you need to understand that you do have that intangible that comes from ones life experience. The things you describe fall into the "commitment" category. The way you turn a phrase in your songs, interpret the lyrics, conveying sincerity and understanding the lyrics, losing yourself in the yarn you are spinning.......those are the intangibles. Ever seen a performer who was technically great on the instruments, memorized all the lyrics, and came off very sterile, or worse as a cookie cutter version of the original lyric? Those don't have the intangible.
