You can't get there on the Tube you must mean the Docklands Light Railway. It's quite a pleasant journey being an elevated railway from Tower Gateway until it reaches Island Gardens where it dives beneath the Thames to Greenwich. On the eastern branch towards Beckton you get really good views of the river.
