Well. On my old disk, the Title is "Cornbread, Meat and Molasses." No "black" in the title. But they sing, "I don't want no-o Peas, Cornbread, black molasses." Very ad hoc song, that, and it seems to me some of the very best traditional songs defy logic and make no sense at all. Like the Carter Family's "Titanic." Or on the other side, some of those fine old Copper Family songs that string together three generations of glorious Mondegreens! It wouldn't be no fun at all if it had to make sense!
