LTS said … “I went to Hull once... it was quite nice.”It reminded me I was once told by an instructor from the UK that when an Englishman doesn't like something, he'll say “It's quite nice.” If he has a strong dislike for something, he'll say “It's quite nice … really.” But if an Englishman really hates something, he'll say “It's quite nice … really, if you like that sort of thing.”
I couldn't confirm the veracity of her remark but I enjoyed the humor.
