The camp director I learned this song from, Ray Sonnenberg, was really old, probaby fifty or so; and we counselors were enlightened teenagers. Ray loved to sing this song for the campers, and we counselors stood around nervously when he did it.

The song still makes me uncomfortable, but it brings back good memories of Ray, who was like a father to me for five summers. Maybe you don't have to be "enlightened" to be a good person.
