I met Tim Dennehy at the weekend and asked him what he thought Clifford meant with "pallid road". His guess was the same as mine.

I suppose I'll have to give in and make sense of all this tune-handling software now! My recollection is that Mc Connell's tune is a slight variation on Tim's.
