We have a vertical strand of musicality in our family. Amoret (my daughter) sings & plays whatever she picks up, I sing & play guitar, my dad has a wonderful voice - but doesn't like performing, his mother played piano while his father sang (performed at private parties as a young couple), her mother was well known for a beautiful and powerful contralto in church.
