Is it a coincidence that the ancient name for this ceremony is ahochi pahochi ? It has also been recounted in Joel Hartung's Knock on Wood : Druidical Thought in Theory and Practice that a band of Druids, angry at LaPrise's incorporation of the sacred ceremony into his song, cursed him "to walk the earth for the rest of his life, whether through rain or snow or sleet or dark of night", which some say accounts for his postal career.
