WASHINGTON, D.C. – In response to the overwhelming 87-6 vote in favor of the Boxer-Smith Amendment to the pending Homeland Security legislation (HR 5005), Captain Duane E. Woerth, president of the Air Line Pilots Association, International, released the following statement:...etc.
(I need to research...see if this actually made it into the Homeland Security Bill. Bush said he'd veto the whole bill if pilots were allowed to be armed. Sept. 11 couldn't have gone off as planned if the pilots had been armed. So Bush wants no guns in the cockpit. 95% of Americans in one poll shortly after 9-11 thought doing what Israel's el Al airlines does sounded reasonable...double barricade the cockpit doors and arm the pilots. But Bush is ADAMANT on this issue. Why? Yeah, even anti-gun Boxer is in favor of it. Sponsored the amendment.)
