kat, I see my three grandkids only once a year, for about 10 days, when I visit in southern California. In between, however, we use Instant Messenger a lot- and I have their permission to print off our exchanges, so I have the equivalent of letters from them.

It's great fun - and very immediate to have a page pop up and a kid write "Hi, Grandma!" They tell me about soccer practice and football and musical theatre and plays they're going out for and friends and weather and when are you coming to visit?
