Hope the holidays were good for ya.
I just realized today that I've been following Doonesbury for so long......well...I've got antique GUITARS that are newer!
It is my "Pogo", that wonderful politically oriented strip that my dad and so many others followed throught the fifties and into the sixties. The thing that I love so much about Doonesbury is that the shots are still vicious, accurate to a fault and HILARIOUS! Plus....his characters actually get OLD and irrelevant (just like we do in real life). The ageing hippies, yuppies, Reaganites etc. still rail on but are completely ignored by the "twenty-somethings" whom they've given birth to.
Today's strip has literally had me chuckling all day. It's two young space cadets (one of whom works for the CIA AND does internet hacking for a hobby) watching Pat Buchanan defend Trent Lott on the tube. The punch line is "Trent Lott is the Negro of today"! I'll try and do a blue clicky so you can see the whole thing, but it's been so long since I've done one I'll probably screw it up.
