Technically not a carol but a glee (though sung with great glee between carols in South Yorkshire village pubs coming up to Christmas). :0)
In case Masato's link (to American Sheet Music) should confuse anyone, the composer "Reginald, the son of William and Elizabeth Spofforth, was born at Southwell, Nottinghamshire, England, in the year 1770, being the eldest of a very large family." The rest of the biography can be found at http://www.gsbgrafx.com/gtgenweb/johnspoffordreginald.html
Masato's link is to an ATTB arrangement, presumably for male voice choir. I have the more usual SATB arrangement, and can scan it & post if anyone would like it.
I think my favourite arrangement though is for brass band, as played in Saddleworth on Mayday morning, and to open the Saddleworth festival.
