A few years back there was a rock band in these parts called Screaming Broddoli, and they were good. I once played with a group calling themselves Russ and the Three Susans, because that's who we were And didn't they have a moment at the old Fox Hollow festival where they got all of the performers on stage and did something they all knew (Circle Be Ungroken, usually) and they called themselves the Wretched Mess String Band. I perform with two speech/language pathologists, and when I was working with blind adults I suggested we call ourselves the Eye Ear, Nose and Throat band. Somehow I was never taken seriously. Then there was the punk band at the open mike session who called themselves Death Cow Being from Vermont where the cow has become somewhat a symbol of our rural wholesomeness and cuteness (YUCK!) I rather liked this name myself, but the band sounded like a cow in the thros of. . . well, a fate worse than death.
