Yes, Dave, I thought the process in the film was quite inappropriate, but typical Hollywood stuff. I also thought the Orcs in general were a bit smaller than they are shown in the film, thus requiring quite a mob of them to take on Boromir and succeed in doing him mortal harm.

Hollow & Buck - I've read that marvelous piece Legolas & the Orcs. Very funny indeed! I do think, though, that Legolas would more likely just seek death in battle under such circumstances, or a quick escape to the Grey Havens (Cuba?). That's what I would do. :-)
