JT - An exponent of pentatonic scales using his voice in a way that sounds effortless but is almost impossible to reproduce faithfully.

His overlying melody lines are supported by chord structures that are actually quite intricate, and if you want to do the job properly you have to play them all if you want to do his songs justice.

Sure he's repetitive - but it's a vehicle that plenty of singer/songwriters use for effect - if you don't like repetition then don't listen to Van Morrison! (another one of my favourites)
