Sad but true: when my cat LuLu died after a long bout with kidney failure and a useless vet, I was too broken up to drive to another vet to dispose of the body - NYC apartment/no place to put her myself. While I sat weeping in the car my sister-in-law took LuLu into the vet's office and came out a little while later trying hard not to giggle. I was exasperated with her. I really was taking it hard.

It seems that she walked in with the dead cat whose mouth and eyes were wide open and who was as stiff as a board. The vet was in the crowded waiting room and she said "I think she's dead." The vet looked a bit perplexed and said "I think so too" reducing the entire group to fits of laughter although they really did sympathize. Later I saw the humor in it.
