Well, Pecos Bill was quite a cowboy down in Texas,And a Western superman to say the least.
He was the roughest, toughest critter,
Never known to be a quitter,
'Cause he had no fear of neither man nor beast.
CH: So whoopy-ti-ay-ti-ay, whoopy-ty-oh,
For the toughest cowboy West of the Alamo.
(Spoken) Now one day a gang of rustlers stole some cattle,
But they didn't know the heard they stole was Bill's.
When Pecos caught those nasty villains,
He knocked out all of their fillin's,
And that's why today there's gold in them thar hills. _____________________________________________________
That's all I can remember after 50 years -- there's another verse that would not make Native Americans -- or many others -- very happy today.
