THE GULL DECOY
(Larry Gorman)
(From the singing of Herbert Hinchey)
(Doerflinger - 'Songs of the Sailor and Lumberman' - pp255-256)

I take no books, nor I read no pa-pers,
I have no mon-ey to spend or lose,
But ev-'ry Sun-day a-mong my neigh-bors,
I run a-round to hear the news!

'Twas all for spite and satisfaction
I set my dog on an orphan boy,
And all those other dirty actions
That adds more grief to the Gull Decoy,

When I stand up and begin to whistle,
the gulls they all begin to fly,
And for this occupation
they call me the Gull Decoy.
