I think you're right, simply because of all the limited TV I've watched, I do remember watching the Waltons when I was younger, and maybe that's where I've seen Michael Learned's name. My wife and kids watch the Waltons still I think, though it could be Little House On The Prairie for all I know. Anyway, over the years I've heard people mess up Michael as Mitchell, Michelle, Meekle (or something), without any kind of crosscultural or other excuse.
