Well, Patrick - I think the trick is that you should know those thirty songs, and then never play them. It's kind of like the controversey surrounding the Rise Up Singing songbook - the songs in the book are good, but they've been sung to death.
Unfortunately, those are the songs you get most frequently as requests - the ones that have been sung to death.
