Actually Sharon, that's about the same as what I sadi I'd read initially but it now appears there is some confusion on what happened and when which is what the family is questioning. The reports in the news vary as to whether the heart attack occured before or during the surgery for the intestinal problem. The congenital problem they describe was obviously quite serious as he collapsed at home on Wednesday. These conditions are not always susceptible to treatment without surgery. I'm not standing up for the Docs at this point, but I'd say since they removed 80% of his stomach (allegedly), then the intestinal problem was life threatening itself.

Not many Docs will take on a high risk surgery without some discussion and I don't know that happened, but he had licked a cocaine problem and was a recovering alchoholic and smoker as well so the heart risk was probably high going in. When it comes to multiple problems then sometimes, depending on how serious the condition is, you roll the dice. Been there, done that.

The family deserves some answers on what happened and when as well as the reasoning behind the surgery......Also, someone had to sign for this surgery as well.

No matter.......a tragic loss to the music and to his family that he loved deeply.
