As a newcomer to singing in in public, I've felt really encouraged by positive feedback, but one comment stumped me.
My singing was compared to a well known & respected traditional (femle) singer, & it definitely was meant as a compiment - but I don't like the way that person sings. No criticism - just personal choice.
So I smiled & thanked them for their words which were kindly meant , but it's left me perplexed, as I had a compltely different 'sound' in my head/imagination. & I don't want to sound like 'her'.
Having acquired some home recording equipment, it should be interesting to hear what I actually sound like.
So what compliments don't you want to hear ????
