i am happy for you that you can connect this
way! My dad used to enjoy making music, but
for the last 15 years of his life, that joy
was stolen from him by a disabling stroke.
I do have a 78 record of him singing, among
other things Ash Grove, and the line
" a host of kind faces is gazing on me,
the friends of my childhood again are before me"
has an eerie quality enters this song when
I listen now that he is gone:
"I find other faces fond bending to greet me"
didn't hit home til after he died!
