Ever since humans (and hence war) have existed, technology has been used to gain an upper hand.

I'm sure that the tribe that figued out fire before their enemies used it to their own advantage.

I don't see this as 'chilling' It's evitable. The purpose of war is to destroy the enemy with minimal casualties on your own side
