No, gnu didn't mean that sort of traetment with alcohol, Mortee! (did you?)

I sliced the top of my thumb off, years ago, in a similar way (from the sound of it), washed it & put a plaster on, but it hurt- so i found the sliced off piece of flesh (!) and popped it back in place then plastered it on: it stopped hurting so much and healed back fine. I can still see where it happened because the 'whorls' and lines of my thumbprint are discontinuous in that area- I obviously put it back on the wrong way round!

Probably too late for that in this case... hope it's ok, dearie..
