Did they tell you it wouldn't hurt as much if you keep it elevated slightly? Also, anything about soaking it in salt water?

BTW, for the record, it won't sting as much and is just as cleansing and better to use hydrogen peroxide to clean out a wound like that, than to use isopropyl alcohol and you get to see all of those nifty little bubbles at work.
