Noreen, you remind me of when I once slashed open a cheekbone with barbed wire that jutted from a tree. At the time, I was clearing my land of thorntrees and five refuse piles so I was getting regular shots to guard against tetanus. (I wasn't given tetanus serum when I was a child, and evidently once you are grown the likelihood of an adverse reaction is increased, so they give you some kind of shot every six months, and you're supposed to get an extra one with every injury.)

Well, I'd had the extra shot just recently so I cleaned the flap of fleshy skin and the flesh beneath with hydrogen peroxide then with a butterfly bandaid I pulled it into place and fastened it down. Two days later I repeated the treatment, and lucky me, it healed with no problem at all. Scarcely a scar.
