Try rubbing a candle across the crack to fill it in a little. (Also "lubricates" it slightly, so it doesn't grab as much.)

It's not a permanent fix, but should last until you've had time to rip out the few "flying hairs" that are troublesome.

Note that the wax on the outside will rub off pretty quickly, but it's the stuff that works into the crack below the surface that actually keeps the hair from getting caught.
