Oh, Rick! You knew I'd bite!

Born in '53, last of five, 4 girls, 1 boy, only one born outside of Colorado, in N. Dakota. Oilfield brat, mostly raised in Casper, WY and Grand Jct., CO, with frequent visits to relatives on the Eastern Slope and elsewhere. Started violin and piano at 8yrs old. Family sang most Saturday nights together and parents played for dances. Dropped out of high school at 17 to have my son, Colin. Kyrsten was born next, then a yr. later I divorced their dad. Married the next one, had the last daughter, Jerusha, then got rid of him! Married Rog almost 20 yrs ago, he (Brave Soul!) adopted all three kids and away we went! From Casper to Massachusetts & Connecticut for 10 yrs, then back to WY. Left the first two kids there (well, they were all grown up!). In between, as a single mom, I was a store clerk, nurses' aide, one of the first in CO to get an EMT certificate, sold radio adverts,sold mobile telephones, assisted a dir. of development at an arts center, had my own psuedo-ad agency, promoted, produced, and sometimes sang my brother's classical music for 20 yrs. In among all of that, I always wrote. Now, I consider myself to be a writer, jewelry designer, and various other things. I am never happy just being one thing. Just recently, thanks in part to the Mudcat, I've taken up singing with my oldest sister, bet, and am really enjoying relearning the old folk & cowboy tunes from childhood, as well as new ones from the DT! Oh, and lest there be any doubts about my nature: I have B positive blood, so....I've always felt that was an admonition to live up to!
