Brilliant Meagher of the sword
Forced the light in Waterford
Rebel Cork and Tipperary do and dare

Connacht province has but five
The West's awake and much alive
Sligo, Galway and Roscommon fought the foe
Leitrim out of Shannon's fame
Singing high I proudly name
Of that grand and lovely county of Mayo
