The FSGW Getaway weekend will be held on October 8-11, 1999 at Prince William Forest National Park, near Dumfries, Virginia, about 30 miles South of Washington, D.C., just a few miles off of Interstate 95. The venue is NOT where we had it last year. This year's site is the original site of the Getaway, decades ago--a set of scenic camping cabins built in the 1930s by the CCC set in some lovely woods, which should be in early-to-mid-peak fall color that weekend. (Bert and Max--it IS the same place you went to this past May). Food will be catered by Debbie McClatchy (if you only know her as a banjo player and singer, you haven't fully experienced her real talents!) It's still too early for most details, but they'll get posted at the FSGW website (www.fsgw.org) as soon as they're available, along with downloadable registration forms. And this thread will be updated (or a similar new thread begun). But mark the weekend on your calendars now!Lots of mudcatters are regulars at the Getaway: Charlie Baum, Ferrara, Bill D, Bruce O, LaMarca are all members of FSGW. Susan of DT and Dick Greenhaus are always there. Several others have been there in the last few years, and a batch of Mudcatters planned to come last year but couldn't make it at the last minute. (The Digital Tradition was born at a Getaway a few years ago!) A chance to make music and socialize together, conveniently located to most of the East Coast. Hope to see many of you there.
