The decision making military minds & briefed higher-ups are aware of a great deal more activity than are we. Much of that info is downright terrifying. They are quite accurate that if left unchecked, the growing ranks of our reckless zealot enemies will wreak total havok upon us. However, disposing of one country's leader will not stop all of the anti American terrorists at this point. There are too many of them scattered around the globe. We must find a way to get along with the peoples of as many countries as possible. If we all help each other for good, the good people of other countries will slowly, but assuredly discourage those terrorists, and finally, turn them in. This is the longer road to peace, however, it well may be the better one. I think that those in the position of making our decisions for us to war or not to war will in the end, choose war, as it will seem, to them, as the way to slap a band-aid on the situation. Problem is, they are going to run out of band-aids before they run out of places which need bandaging. We who believe in peace must remain true to our beliefs. While I think that only madmen truly want to wage war, sometimes our leaders choose that route because they think that it will somehow work to kill for peace. But when people who are in the habit of war choose an eye for an eye, and another eye for another eye, eventually all will be blind and no one will be able to see truth anymore. Dr. Martin Luther King taught that violence begets violence. Golly gee whiz, who is in the right?
