My brother in law is definitely a redneck and Proud Of It. However... he would give you the shirt off his back if you asked for it, and would help you out if you needed it. He is a little loudmouthed at times, but without a doubt, someone you could ride the river with.

Trailer trash... well... not everyone who lives in a trailer is trashy. In my part of Nashville, though, there are some of the older trailer parks, and the trailers look trashy. It doesn't necessarily mean that the people living in them are trashy.
