On the other hand, your eloquent description [... having your eyes shut while kissing then opening eyes to realise you and your partner are looking deep into each others' souls...] did stir a few smouldering memories, Noreen! (Where's that cold drink?)

Now if there's really gonna be a scientific 'spearmint,' I'll sign up -- but I think the trials should be held in the UK, with the female volunteer subjects being flown in, at the expense of the project, for research purposes.
