Malcolm, you are correct, of course. Ideally I'd be using Adobe Pagemaker for my layout work and PhotoShop instead of PhotoDraw for images. My computer at work came with the MS Office suite and it's an extra effort to get the Adobe installed, but I'm working on getting someone to order it. At home I don't have it and would have to purchase it myself. I got the MS stuff for $5 a CD (it was $25 for the office suite). That Adobe stuff if pricey, even in the academic packages. If beggars can't be choosers, then you need to learn as many tricks as you can to make this inferior stuff work. How would you go about sending a font to someone? Is it in a separate named file somewhere? What type of file, and how large are they? For bigger projects we have things laid out by the office of publications folks at the university. They always send fonts to the press when they forward their work for printing, but I've never known how they do it. That's why I suggested above to use the typical fonts that everyone generally has. But it would be nice to branch out.
