Excuse me for thread drift, but when they "made sweet love" back in 1916, what were they referring to? I see many references to "making love" in old songs, and I'm not sure I can believe Grandma and Grandpa were singing about rolling in the hay.
Well, at least not in published songs...
But really, what did the term mean back then?
